Denver photo shoot by Lindsay Giles McWilliams
In my post about my recent road trip, I sung praises of dear friends. Truth is, I wanted to run to the top of mountains - sound of music style - and sing their praises. During my three weeks visiting friends and rambling my way through U.S. I was both nurtured to my core, inspired by talent and riveted by story.
I implore you to make a point, each year (or month if you can) to visit a friend - particular one who might not live so close to you - and then plan nothing. Just show up with gratitude and a bottle of wine (or take them out for dinner) but step into their pace of life and let the stories unfold.
That's kind of what I did when I showed up at Lindsay's place in Denver. I don't know that I have enough space here to sing her praises so I'll list her talents:
*Singer/songwriter in touring band; Arklife
*Art gallery owner
When I got to Denver, the city was experiencing an onslaught of rain; something rarely seen in this part of the world as they boast their 300 days of sunshine very proudly. Lindsay's boyfriend, the equally talented musician Jesse Elliot, was out of town so it was girls weekend for sure.
With a car full of product and a cloudy, but warm Sunday....before the clouds let loose with rain, Lindsay decided to dust off some lenses (her grandfather's vintage Leica to be exact) and we went out to play in the urban streets of Denver. Lindsay chose walls that offered texture and colors and I threw on outfits and she told me what to do! Here is just a sneak peek of some of the pics.
Check out Lindsay's work. It's so good.
